TruthSeer is the third book in The TruthSeer Archives by Mike Shelton, a great story in the genre of young adult fantasy. We are introduced to Shaeleen, a young girl with an unusual gift. She has the gift of knowing when someone is lying. But that isn’t all; every lie she hears hurts her deeply and physically. Now entrusted with a mission to gather all the stones of power and restore them to their primordial place, she quickly learns that the power mongers known as the Shadow Keepers have created a conflict situation in Wayland. Does she have enough strength to carry on with her mission, to resist the lure of power, and to bring order into a world that is under serious threat from the shadow?
This is a brilliant and very satisfactory conclusion to the TruthSeer series. An evocative tale with a setting that is as eerie as it is gripping, the kind of story that fans of fantasy would love to read. It is cleverly plotted and it conveys the message that the gifts we receive can become our burdens, and that our sense of responsibility in protecting and using our gifts for the good of humanity is something liberating. The writing is crisp and the reader is greeted from the first sentence with powerful descriptions that capture small details while keeping the narrative clear and focused. Quick paced and gripping, TruthSeer: TruthSeer Archives Book 3 is a great read and Mike Shelton is gifted with the art of storytelling.
