If you have followed the Twin Rivers Series by Michael Fields, you won't be disappointed with the way he wraps it all up with Twin River IV: C U When U Get There. This thriller takes off 18 years after the birth of Becky Wilson's twins, but still depicts the same sinister tone and characterization of book three. Cain, a younger version of the same evil, returns to Twin Rivers from Death Valley, California. He has committed a horrendous act in China Lake after kidnapping a bus with school children on it. Cain and his uncle Abel take one of those school children with him. Twin Rivers has changed somewhat without the Cain brothers, but it still has its problems, though Gene Brooks is still there to try to keep a lid on things. The intensity continues to increase as ugly events in Twin Rivers are about to collide with the evil that is bearing down upon them.
C U When U Get There is a great way for Michael Fields to wrap up the Twin Rivers Series. By reliving the same evil of Cain within his son, but at a whole new level, the reader is drawn right back into the thriller where Michael left off, but from a fresh point of view. I particularly liked how he drew in elements of the Coso warriors of the Mojave Desert into the story. C U When U Get There is a story of good surviving in spite of evil, and eventually triumphing over it. Intense, sinister and thrilling; Michael Fields has finished the Twin Rivers Series with a powerful ending.
