Understanding Time and Eternity by Vasile Ghiuta asserts that time is both a personal experience and an external, measurable framework extending from conception to physical death. He differentiates physical time as objective from human time influenced by emotion and cognition. Ghiuta examines historical and philosophical views, proposing that absolutism and relationism about time are not mutually exclusive. He identifies three models of time, linear, cyclical, and looping, explaining their implications for time travel and soul temporality. Ghiuta develops a dynamic theory where past, present, and future exist objectively, influenced by neurological and psychological factors. He analyzes identity’s persistence through change and discusses time’s relationship with eternity, framing divine time as eternal and uncreated. The author integrates religious, philosophical, and scientific perspectives to explain human temporal experience and spiritual evolution.

Understanding Time and Eternity by Vasile Ghiuta is an exhaustively researched and intelligently written analysis that is presented with absolute clarity and careful attention to detail, making even the most complicated ideas accessible to most readers regardless of the level of understanding they begin with. For me, the look into identity and spirituality was the most interesting, particularly in how divine and human realms relate through concepts like divine grace and ontological likeness. The writing is precise and well-structured, inviting readers to consider diverse perspectives on time from various religious traditions, and this is the first time I'd ever really considered it. Ghiuta does an exceptional job of balancing philosophy with theological perceptiveness, and his discussion of time’s nature across traditions, from cyclical to linear and beyond, demonstrates a wide-ranging and respectful approach. Overall, this is a brilliant book combining scholarly examination with clear prose that is worthy of serious consideration. Very highly recommended.
