Unexpected Love by David Allen Edmonds is a Benton Center Romance story. Benton Center is a small town where everybody loves knowing everyone else’s business. Maggie and Brent are in love, and the townspeople enjoy nothing more than gossiping about them. But they are fed up with being treated like royalty and devise a plan to teach everyone a lesson. Samantha and Irv are also in love, but for some reason, they are ignored and allowed to get on with their lives without people constantly talking about them. When PumpkinFest comes along, no one is safe from the tricks, deception, and political intrigue. Can both couples come out of this unscathed? Will the town finally leave Maggie and Brent alone? Or is everything about to go horribly wrong?
Unexpected Love by David Allen Edmonds is lighthearted fun at its best. It’s a simple feel-good story of love that will bring a smile to your face and leave you feeling warm inside. The plot is steady, two stories running into one, with plenty of action. I loved the characters, real people you’ll get to know and find easy to relate to, and you’ll be rooting for the four main characters all through. The writing is descriptive enough to make you feel like you live in Benton Center. It’s romance and political intrigue combined, with many laughs along the way; it’s also about the importance of friendship and working together. If you want a fun, easy read, this is for you.
