Wake by Sherry Rossman is set in a time when things are not good. Monet is a ward of the city and her life is not fun. Depending upon anxiety pills is not fun either. Titus is the city where you need to follow rules and do what you are told to do. However, things change drastically for Monet when her friend Luke finds a book that actually changes the way they think and feel about the world around them.

The book contains the history of mankind, what humans were, and how they lived before this reign. Now, these two are supporting notions like the existence of God. It is as if all things are pointing them onto a path which is very dangerous. Living in ignorance was tedious, but safe. But with the knowledge they have, their life can be very dangerous and their days numbered. Will they take the right path, regardless of the consequences?

Time and time again, writers such as Sherry Rossman prove that I can enjoy sci-fi and fantasy novels. Monet’s story is unlike any other I have read before. Although at first glance you may feel this is a storyline that you have read before, once you start reading you will discover that this story is a gem. Monet is sharp and very attentive. Luke and Monet make quite a team. It is a well thought out plot that will not disappoint you. The cover of the novel fits superbly with the story.
