Web of Destiny by Al & Joanna Lacy is the continuation of the Kane Legacy Series. A Line In the Sand was the first in the series. The focus of this series of books is the Kane family. The series begins with the men working on the docks but dreaming of a different life. Alan was the first to journey to Texas where he acquires a cattle ranch. He sent for Adam and later the rest of his family.

Web of Destiny picks up after the death of Adam at the Alamo. His widow, Julia, is carrying their first child. Alan (Alamo) loved his brother’s wife from the first moment he met her. He prays that someday she will love him, too. The war with Mexico was far from over. Santa Anna was marching on Washington-on-the-Brazos. Once again Alamo Kane charges into battle. Along the trial Alamo, Able and Alex shared their witness of Jesus Christ. Their goal was to keep a soul from the gates of hell and to assist him into heaven. The plot follows this family’s triumphs, fellowship, and relationships with Christ through the turbulent times of the Mexican-American War.

Web of Destiny is fraught with history, romance, and Christian morals. I love these books! Web of Destiny is an easy read with deep Christian value. At times, the dialogue is a bit contrived and repetitive. The characters are right out of the pages of the history books. The love of Julia and Alamo is endearing. I caught myself wiping tears on several occasions. Al & Joanna Lacy have done it again! Web of Destiny is sure to be a hit with fans of Christian romance.

Alan and Adam Kane were at the Alamo when Santa Anna and his army attacked. Colonel Travis sent Alan to take a message to General Sam Houston, asking for help. Alan made it through, but help came too late. His brother died with the others. Only Susanna Dickinson and her young daughter were allowed to leave. When Alan returns he is shocked at the massacre. Susanna suggests Alan's name be changed to Alamo, which I found rather jarring. Alan is in love with his brother's widow, and now he vows to take care of her for Adam. Santa Anna is still a danger and when General Houston calls for volunteers, Alan, and his brothers, Alex, and Abel, join. Now three Kane men are in danger. Al and Joanna Lacy are well known for their histoicals. Web of Destiny is book two in the Kane Legacy Trilogy. Readers who enjoyed A Line In The Sand won't want to miss this one.
