Piper Malone can see guardian angels; what she didn’t know was that she can travel through time, too. When she hears one of the angels, Laurie, crying because her husband on earth committed suicide, Piper decides to go back in time to try to prevent it. With the help of an old spell from The Book of Secrets, she went back in time to 1945 when her guardian angel and her husband were still lifeguards in Hallandale, Florida. There, Piper was able to meet Lorraine, who becomes Laurie when she became an angel, her husband Tom and the other lifeguards and became a part of their lives. Will Piper be able to stop the death of Tom Morris? Find out in What Happened in Hallandale by McCollonough Ceili, the first book in the Hallandale Novella Trilogy.

What Happened in Hallandale is a good start to a trilogy. The novella is a finished story; however there are still questions that are waiting to be answered in the next books. Angels, time travel, astral projection, death, suicide, lifeguards -- mix them all together and you get a good book. Add in a kid heroine and you get a great book. I really liked this book and the spells were cute which I tried, unfortunately it didn’t work (ha-ha).

This is a work of fiction but it kind of reinforced my belief that I might have a guardian angel that guides and protects me every day. McCollonough Ceili made the first novella a great foundation for the next two books.

I agree that What Happened in Hallandale was a good story. Yet I feel her second book in this series Awakening The Truth is even better.
Have you read that one too?
