What is Anxiety? A Children's Guide by Lindsey Coker is an informative children's book about anxiety. A young girl named Sarah is starting at her new school and begins to have worrying thoughts. Will she make any friends? Will she be laughed at? Or what if she makes a complete fool of herself? The unknowns were endless and Sarah's mind continued to race. Sarah nervously walks into her new classroom where her teacher; Mrs. Carlton is waiting for her. Mrs. Carlton is friendly and makes Sarah feel slightly better, but her anxiety rises as Mrs. Carlton leads her outside where the other children are playing. Sarah feels a panic attack rapidly coming on and quickly remembers what her counselor had taught her. Will Sarah manage to defeat her anxiety and have the confidence to make new friends? Find out in What is Anxiety? A Children's Guide.

What is Anxiety? A Children's Guide was a pleasure to read. The author Lindsey Coker has done an amazing job at demonstrating how children can overcome anxiety. As an adult who suffers from anxiety daily, I know how hard it can be to stop it from controlling your life, and it's sad to think of a child experiencing these emotions too. But with books like What is Anxiety?, I feel confident that they will be able to learn and overcome it more easily. The story and illustrations are beautiful and will help keep the attention of young readers. I have no doubt that this book will be a huge success among children and I hope Lindsey Coker continues to write more useful books for them to help them through life.
