What's Your Number? by Linda Wong follows Remi Wilkerson, a newspaper journalist who has lost her other half and best friend, Amber. Having experienced so much loss in her life, Remi does her best to live on and find a connection again. Through various dates and a growing list of relationships, fulfilment seems to be just out of her reach. That is until she meets Pete, a man who brings her so much joy, and the two plan to get married. But in the face of more loss and grief, Remi discovers that friendship is the glue that holds you together till the very end.

What's Your Number? by Linda Wong presents an honest and almost bittersweet look at the romantic misadventures of a woman trying to navigate love in a chaotic world. As a newspaper columnist, Remi is observant, witty, yet vulnerable, and these qualities are what draw you in as a reader and are what her suitors seem to love about her. However, the heart of the story doesn't lie in her many romantic endeavors but rather in Remi’s deep, unwavering friendship with Craig, someone who seems to be an ordinary supporting character at first but proves to be so much more. Craig's steadfast support through every heartbreak highlights the story's core message: that while love may falter, true friendship endures. I honestly loved how this narrative balanced the humor, heartbreak, and moments of self-discovery. Wong has written such an emotionally provocative and insightful story that many people will relate to. I found myself empathizing with the characters so much and truly becoming invested in their lives as if they were people I really knew. Overall, What’s Your Number? is a touching story that reflects the reality of the lives we all live, and I think everyone should read this book.
