Cindi McMenamin is an excellent writer who is honest about her failures with her daughter, Dana. Cindi also interviewed many other Christian mothers to find what they did well and what they learned from their mistakes. Cindi is the wife of a pastor and she has written many other books that are based on their love and their mutual faith, trust, and love of God. So, throughout the book she uses biblical references to make or reinforce points. She encourages her readers to trust that prayer will help them do what they know are God’s intentions to develop a godly life.

She details what she learned from raising Dana, as well many other mothers’ personal experiences and successes with their daughters to give the book other POVs. This happened with goals of: careful, interested listening; observing strengths and weakness and helping her deal with them; using mistakes as learning opportunities; appropriate consequences for bad behavior; constantly giving physical and verbal affection; and encouraging her to become her own person, which applies to any parent-child relationship.

I believe the mother-daughter bond can be the strongest, healthiest, and happiest relationship between any two humans. It is based on genetics, but can be nurtured consciously. Too often it’s not that way and so Cindi McMenamin's book When a Mom Inspires Her Daughter may help many mothers. This is an excellent guide for any mother and daughter to achieve the same relationship Cindi and Dana have.
