When Your Mother Calls You Home by Tracie Ball is her memoir that shares how Tracie worked on healing herself from past wounds and finding happiness. The book opens with Tracie living with her partner André and working together on a reforestation project in Ecuador. But when André starts getting violent, she has to leave to stay safe. This painful moment pushes her to travel on her own, first to England and then to India, where she participates in a yoga course and engages in powerful healing sessions with energy healers. They help her deal with the painful memories and trauma from her past, marking the beginning of her journey to finding happiness and peace.

What I really liked about When Your Mother Calls You Home was how bold and open Tracie was in sharing her story. Her honesty about her struggles and healing truly inspired me. The book's pacing was steady and thoughtful, which helped me understand Tracie's emotions better. Tracie's adventurous visits to the Ganga River and the temples in India added a touch of action to the narrative. People like Morris and Gio helped remind Tracie that joy still exists, giving her hope and strength to continue her journey toward healing. This memoir is about forgiveness and healing. I recommend When Your Mother Calls You Home by Tracie Ball to anyone who has faced heartbreak, loss, or hard times. It shows how healing and joy can come if you have the courage to keep going.
