Winds of Wyoming: A Kate Neilson Novel by Rebecca Carey Lyles is a love story. Kate Neilson is looking forward to beginning a new life as a guest-ranch employee in Wyoming. Her past has been tough with being in and out of foster homes, a reform school, and prison. Now armed with a marketing degree, her only interest is to work, but she finds herself attracted to the ranch owner. Her peace of mind is destroyed when she finds out that her ex-lover has followed her and will reveal her violent past.
The flavor of the Wild West and the ranch is a perfect backdrop to the story. The story progresses well with Kate and the author has developed the plot slowly and in an orderly fashion. Kate's relationship with each character in the story is portrayed well. The book has a romantic theme laced with suspense. The story is convincing with a set of strong characters giving the plot power and authenticity. The violent lover spices up the story. The reader can make out from the narration and the details that the author has done a lot of research for this book.
The story is nice and the Christian concept of the Lord and prayers gives it deeper meaning. It has been nicely incorporated into this romantic fiction. The story is fast paced and keeps the tempo till the very end. Forgiveness and acceptance are the two messages in the story that I found immensely heart-warming.
