Washington DC is the site of the most serious terrorist attack since 9/11. Only this is a nuclear blast that does so much more damage. This devastating event throws the entire country into instant chaos. One thing remains mysterious – the president and his family are unharmed. They are away on a family emergency. With a plot as explosive as this, Robert Maxwell’s book – Yes, It Happened – is a roller coaster of tragedy, intrigue, betrayal, international conspiracy, and much more. One man is determined to unravel the bitter truth to all Americans – Augustus, a prolific blogger who is decidedly against the president. In the wake of the disaster, Augustus needs to battle his personal loss and find a way to build a promising future for the entire country.

Yes, It Happened is a fast-paced thriller with all the ingredients of a captivating story. As the nuclear explosion shakes the country to its core, the people are left wondering whom to trust. Is the president telling the truth? What happens to the country when the entire system of government has been obliterated? Robert Maxwell spins a brilliant story with interesting characters. As Augustus gathers his friends and teammates to fight the ultimate battle, I rooted for them at every step of their journey. Their impeccable planning and execution left me at the edge of my seat. In addition to the main plot, the characters were highly interesting. Each one with their unique strengths and quirks made the narration more thrilling. I highly recommend this book for an energetic weekend read.
