Yokche: The Nature of Murder (Chase Larsen Adventure Series Book 1) by PJ Erickson is a murder mystery. Chase Larsen has returned home after learning of his sister’s death, only to find out that the case was closed as an accidental death. Together with his dog Jake, he begins to investigate, digging deep into his sister’s life and her work at the turtle sanctuary. He teams up with Joe, a native Seminole Indian who was friends with Sophie, an old PI friend, and Shanna, a paralegal who works for Dominic. Their travels take them through unnatural thunderstorms, and a trail of death and destruction in a bid to uncover the truth and avenge Sophie’s death. What they uncover is more terrifying than any of them could have imagined and leaves them in danger, in fear of their lives and of their very existence.

Yokche: The Nature of Murder (Chase Larsen Adventure Series Book 1) by PJ Erickson is the first in what has already shaped up to look like a good series. This is one of those fast-paced books; there is no dead time and no bits that don’t seem to lead anywhere. Every page is full of action and every avenue that they turn down has something to do with the ending. I thought this was a very well developed novel, with great characters that you could identify with, and plenty of twists and turns in it to keep you hooked. Loved the plot, loved the directions that the story took and loved the characters. Definitely looking forward to the next one.
