You Might Need A Therapist If... by Cliff Carle, John Carfi, David Earle and with illustrations by Scott Sackett is a book of jokes and the occasional comic strip single panel style drawings that offer up multiple punchlines to the titular setup. The compilation is presented comfortably in three punchlines per page, with jokes ranging in tone from a light zing you can share with your grandmother (ie: You might need a therapist if you're so cheap, you try to save money on acupuncture by sitting on a cactus) to the slightly more salacious, best reserved for your closest group of friends (ie: You might need a therapist if you're such a narcissist, you can't look in the mirror without getting an erection).
You Might Need A Therapist If... is a fun book that provides dozens of one-liners sure to crack a smile across even the most hardened readers' lips. There were several that made me laugh out loud, a handful that resulted in a sigh and eye roll from my daughter - but I definitely saw a smirk! - and the rest had me chuckling through each page. Novelty books always make perfect stocking stuffers and little gifts, the kind that usually end up on the edge of the coffee table or a nightstand. Cliff Carle, John Carfi, David Earle, and Scott Sackett have created just the sort of book that will find pride of place on many such tables and equip a host with the only tool needed to liven up an occasion.
