In Pleasure Submission, BJ Masterson introduces Emily, a divorced schoolteacher, as she continues to explore BDSM. She becomes intimately involved with Dominic “Titan” Vale, the man considered to be the king of kinkdom. Their romance is electric, starting in a New Mexico club and involving kinky sex and more. But the excitement wanes, and the relationship is complicated by a journalist who investigates Dominic for the murder of Lydia, his former partner. It becomes even more complex when Dominic has a threesome with the journalist and Emily. The truth about the murder comes to light, and Emily is kidnapped, eventually accepting her submission fully and traveling to Switzerland with Dominic for the Global Kink Competition.
BJ Masterson writes in the first-person narrative voice, which gives the story an intimate tone. The different perspectives, from Dominic, Emily, and Adrianna, are well-delivered and used to build suspense in the story. The one-line paragraphs, the short chapters, and the timely paragraph breaks made the story breezy. Readers should expect to engage with mature content and kinky sex in this book. Pleasure Submission presents two complex characters, the female gradually transitioning from a timid divorcee to a trusting submissive, while the male assumes the role of a commanding and assuring leader. Adrianna is one of the characters I liked in the story, and it was interesting to see how she changes roles. This is a novel for readers who are strictly into erotic sex and who enjoy complex characters and a twisty plot.
