For a mother, seeing her children grow up is an experience that fills her with pride. Sometimes it’s hard to put all those feelings into words, because there are so many memories she’d like to capture. Danielle LaRosa shares that feeling and describes the joy of motherhood in I Love You So. The story is told from the perspective of a lioness mother gazing at her cub in her arms. She longs to watch him grow up, to be with him when he takes his first steps, and to take him to school on his first day of class. She also wants to enjoy everyday moments, like playing with him and eating ice cream by his side. She wants to always be there for him, celebrating his birthdays with cake and gifts, and watching him mature as he learns to be independent. She reminds us that, in the blink of an eye, children grow up, and that’s why we must appreciate every moment together.

Danielle LaRosa shares a beautiful story that evokes warmth and nostalgia. She highlights the most meaningful moments in a child’s growth, such as when they say their first words or learn to ride a bike. But she also promotes important values, like learning to forgive, being a good friend, and striving to achieve one’s dreams. That’s why I found this story so captivating. I also liked that the author uses short sentences and highlights some key words in a different color, which makes it easier to read. Additionally, I loved the illustrations by Pencil Master because on every page, we see how the little lion grows, and little by little, the mother’s wish comes true until her son is ready to set out on his own path. I Love You So is a charming book for sharing a special moment between mother and child.

Babies are a gift to hold and love, but their special aura of joy spent with you will pass by very quickly. In Danielle LaRosa’s I Love You So, a mother enjoys holding her newborn baby, wondering where his life will take him. The years pass, and he grows up, reaching one milestone after another until finally, in the blink of an eye, this wonderful, cuddly baby is a grown man, living in his own home, starting his own life. It’s all about growing up, something we do quickly as an infant, then a child, then a young adult, and, perhaps, we’re all still growing up as aging adults.

Danielle LaRosa’s picture book, I Love You So, is about a love that stays the same, even when everything else begins to change. This is the first book in the Wild About You Collection and speaks volumes of a mother’s love for her child, much like Robert Munsch’s Love You Forever. Keep the tissue box handy, as the rhyming, lyrical story unfolds with some tender moments. This story is intended for young readers, but it will also appeal to adults who have the same sentiments. The language is simple but compelling and will certainly draw the reader in. The illustrations by Pencil Master are spectacular and add another dimension to a sweet story. Everyday moments became grand events in the growing-up years of a young person. The story is about beginnings, something that carries on throughout a person’s life. Beautifully told and illustrated.

I Love You So by Danielle LaRosa follows the journey of a parent and child from infancy through adulthood, capturing fleeting yet meaningful moments. The story begins with a newborn cradled close, as the parent reflects on the wonder of a new life and the realization that time will move quickly. As the child grows, the book traces milestones such as first steps, first words, and early experiences with school, friendships, and play. Moments of frustration, disappointment, and uncertainty are balanced with comfort, encouragement, and affection, reinforcing the idea that love remains constant through every change. As the child matures, the story transitions into adolescence and eventually adulthood, where independence becomes part of the journey. The central message remains unchanged: no matter how far the child goes or how much life evolves, the bond between parent and child endures.

Danielle LaRosa writes in a rhythmic, lyrical style that makes the book perfect for reading aloud, with simple language that flows naturally from page to page. The pacing mirrors the passage of time, moving smoothly from one stage of life to the next. The illustrations by Pencil Master play a significant role, using warm colors and expressive characters to bring each scene to life and enhance the emotional connection. Readers will enjoy how the combination of gentle storytelling and vivid imagery creates a read that is both intimate and universal. The book is especially appealing for families looking for a meaningful bedtime story or a way to reflect on growth and connection. Love You So is a heartfelt story that centers on love and family bonds. It’s an excellent addition to a child’s library to read time and again as they grow.
