A Day in the Life of Peanut & Bosco by Kevin Minor and Jake Minor is a story about a little girl named Peanut and her dog Bosco. Peanut awakes on a sunny day to find that there are endless possibilities for the adventures she and Bosco could have. And as she and Bosco play throughout their day, Peanut weaves elaborate stories. She imagines them being pirates, sailing the seas and seeking treasure, leaping over rooftops as a superhero duo, living underwater as a mermaid and scuba dog, visiting Mars and much more. Even when she is doing chores, Peanut uses her imagination to make Bosco and herself robots. And when they are both tucked into bed at the end of the action-packed day, Peanut and Bosco snuggle in together as the best of friends.

A Day in the Life of Peanut & Bosco is the endearing story of a little girl and her dog, but also about Peanut’s incredible imagination. The real beauty of this story is in the different vignettes that Bosco and Peanut find themselves imagining as they play together. Each scene leaves you anticipating the whimsical illustration of the imaginary adventure the pair are experiencing. The illustrations are fun and elaborate, rich with details and nuance. I loved the illustrations in general; the detail and depth are great! And with each scene, there is energy expressed in the pictures that made me feel exactly what Peanut is feeling. The book is written in a rhyming scheme which gives it a rhythmic quality to being read aloud, great for reading before bed. Overall, I enjoyed reading all about Peanut’s imaginative adventures!
