Kirthana J Fanning shows us the power of faith in A Feather Of The Brightest Color. The story is about Tobi, an eight-year-old boy who lives in a town with no color. Many years ago, when people smiled and cooperated, the place was cheerful and colorful. However, over time, that was gradually lost and everything became gray. One night, while watching the stars from his window, Tobi asks God to bring his town back together. The next day, in the forest, he finds a blue feather, something unheard of. When he shows it to the town, the inhabitants are thrilled and decide to have a big celebration. This awakens the desire to act together and help each other, causing magic to emerge.
Tobi is a wonderful, kind, and generous character. His actions demonstrate the value of sharing and thinking of others, making him a positive role model for young readers. Kirthana J Fanning's writing is clear and accessible, with a straightforward style, understandable vocabulary, and a well-developed plot. She demonstrates how a small gesture can make a big impact, such as bringing a community together. Tedy Syah's grayscale illustrations perfectly complement the narrative, creating an intriguing atmosphere that transforms into a warm, loving one. In addition, I loved the contrast of the vibrantly hued blue feather as a symbol of hope against the various gray backgrounds. A Feather Of The Brightest Color is a tender tale that reminds us of the importance of kindness and collaboration.
