A Home Called Haven by C. Anne is a magical fairy tale about a Fox and an Otter. These two strange foster kids live in the woods with Amma, who is a mischievous, mysterious, and magical woman. She gives Fox and Otter all the love they need and teaches them to be patient with each other. The two companions with their different traumas meet in a most magical place to heal their wounds by going on a treacherous journey together. They learn to lean on each other and trust each other's instincts. On their path, the two make new friends and discover the true meaning of friendship. Fox and Otter build a bond as they venture into the mysterious plains of the lower world, where they meet magical creatures that help them find their way back home.
C. Anne has managed to fuse both fantasy and adventure into one book. The characters she has created are relatable and so adorable that you would want to befriend them in real life. A Home Called Haven makes you eager to visit this underground world and experience it for yourself. The imagery and descriptions are creative and intriguing with a plot and creatures that are original. Do you want to go on an adventure? Parents, get this book now, read it with your children, and enjoy the journey together. I hope C. Anne makes this tale into a series because I would love to read more stories about these characters.
