Author Laura Beers in A Misplaced Lady brings a spellbinding story of a lady of the aristocracy being forced to take unthinkable measures to stem the damaging effects of a high society scandal of losing everything by bad business dealings and investments in the 1880s. Position, title, along with wealth and all the privileges it brings mean everything. Love and loyalty are a rarity, not cared or thought about by the majority. Sons and daughters are mostly used as tools by parents lining up lucrative marriage alliances, ensuring financial security with the right family ties to help maintain their position in life, raising their all-important status and profile in high society. Join the daughter of a Marquis, Lady Adelaide Berkeley, and her lady’s maid, Pauline, on their journey to America where they begin an unexpected adventure, meeting a ranchman named Broderick. Enjoy romance, drama, and action together with a touch of humor as they face the challenges of what is truly important to them. Will love or duty and what is expected of them win the day?

Another beautifully written book with a nice easy flow brought to us by author Laura Beers, showing her excellent understanding of the customs and expectations of this period.
