A Place of Grace for Moms of Littles by Alexandra Jensen explores the insecurities of being a mom. Jensen, a stay-at-home mom, shares her journey of motherhood from living a life focused on herself to transforming her mind and heart to adopting a we-mindset. Her journey involved including God in her life and introducing Him to her children. She speaks of feeling like she is failing when the laundry and dishes pile up, when the house is untidy, or when her children face mishaps. Jensen lists all her doubts, greatest fears, and feelings of inadequacy as a mother. She describes in detail how the word of God, which overflows with love and grace, helps her see that she is doing better than she thinks and that raising children is the ultimate service to God. Jensen references relevant scripture throughout this book. Apart from references to her own experiences as a mother, she includes the experiences of other mothers. After each chapter, she provides additional scriptures and unique prayers for familiar challenges of motherhood.
A Place of Grace for Moms of Littles by Alexandra Jensen is a beautiful, candid, and deeply thoughtful book about the calling of motherhood. Jensen showed vulnerability in her writing as she detailed what she viewed as her failings as a mother. Her honesty helped me relate to her as an author and a mother. Her book is well-researched and written. She backs her thoughts and experiences with multiple Bible verses and stories. Her testimony flows effortlessly as it's apparent that her writing is inspired by her devotion to the word of God and her love for her children. Jensen gives hope to mothers, especially stay-at-home moms who always feel judged by society, often leading moms to feel like everything they sacrifice is never enough. A Place of Grace for Moms of Littles connects moms and their little ones to God.
