In a sweet, sad, heartbreaking read, A Thirty-Something Girl, author Lisa Gott tells us the story of Hope. At the age of thirty, Hope has dealt with a lot of difficult things. She's lost a child, been divorced, and struggled mightily with finances. Thankfully, she has some wonderful friends that surround her with love, making sure that she isn't completely buried in her grief and depression. Eventually she meets Sam, a man who's also dealt with sadness and difficulties in his past. Together they move forward into the unknown of the future, supporting each other, loving each other, being there for each other. But will Hope truly be able to leave her past in the past and move forward happily into a new future with Sam?

Lisa Gott has written a wonderful book that will twist your heart into knots, make you cry, but also show you the resilience and hope of the human spirit. A very realistic portrayal of a person's struggle with depression, A Thirty-Something Girl is a a worthwhile read, and one that will stay with you long, long after you've put the book down. I would recommend this book for any reader looking for a serious, solid novel that is well-written and contains characters that you will truly care about. This is the first book that I've ever read by author Lisa Gott, but I certainly hope that she's already at work on her next novel, because I, for one, will be anxiously waiting for its debut. This author has me hooked on her beautiful, elegant writing style, and I definitely look forward to more from her in the future.
