Adoptive parents raised Sutton McKaihan in Georgia near Lake Lanier, which was associated with chilling mysteries, inexplicable vanishings, paranormal activity, and haunting ghost tales. One day, something inexplicable happens: Sutton enters the cave on Three Sisters Island and exits onto a remote spot somewhere in the West Indies. In the cave, she meets Beck, who moved from Scotland to Montserrat for a better future, like many others his age. The circumstances under which they meet are unusual, as Beck is beaten up and shackled. Sutton frees him, and together they escape as Beck tells her of the notorious pirates who had beaten him up. Things become stranger as Sutton realizes it is April 30, 1717. How will things turn out in A Tryst In Time by Casi McLean as the two get close and deal with one of history's most notorious pirates?

A Tryst In Time by Casi McLean is wonderfully written, and the blending of time travel and romance makes it one of a kind. I loved the flawless flow of the plotline, which left no room for confusion. Casi ensured that all events were vividly described, which helped create a mental picture of what was happening. The writing is engaging and filled with well-crafted dialogue that brings the story and the well-developed characters to life. This was also a thought-provoking work, which triggered my curiosity in Scottish history. The narration was perfect, which added to the overall beauty of the work, and the reader will also appreciate the easy-to-understand language used, which makes the work accessible to all audiences. This is a good story, and I look forward to reading something else by this author.

Love and adventure intertwine in unexpected ways for a time traveler in Casi McLean's A Tryst in Time. With rage coursing through her veins after her recent breakup with her fiancé, Sutton McKaihan is speeding on her boat over Lake Lanier with her faithful dog, Apolla, when an unforeseen accident sends her spiraling through time to the year 1717. Sutton suddenly finds herself on the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean, rescuing a Scottish Highlander named Beckket Macrae, who had been beaten, tortured, and held captive in a cavern by the notorious pirate Captain Teach Edwards and his men. Sutton and Beck find their way to the town of Plymouth, where Apolla becomes unexpectedly popular. Meanwhile, the two strangers develop feelings for each other. But can they escape Blackbeard's clutches?

If you're craving a time-traveling adventure tale, look no further than a Casi McLean novel. McLean's unique ability to weave together romance, adventure, time travel, and suspense creates narratives few other authors can match. A Tryst in Time contains all those elements and more. There are also the added ingredients of mystery and intrigue in this tale, as well as the inclusion of Blackbeard, which will especially appeal to historical fiction aficionados. The romance between Sutton and Beckett is thrilling, keeping lovers of the genre yearning for more. Additionally, Apolla steals every scene she is in. I also enjoyed the way Sutton managed to get Blackbeard to agree to a parley. Overall, it's a fantastic addition to McLean's time travel romance collection. Highly recommended!

A Tryst in Time by Casi McLean blends romance, time travel, and historical intrigue, transporting readers to the Golden Age of Piracy. The story follows Sutton McKaihan, whose emotional outburst on Lake Lanier unexpectedly propels her through time to 1717, where she encounters Beckett Macrae, a battered Scotsman shackled in a pirate's cave. Together, they navigate treacherous circumstances, including the looming threat of Blackbeard, while unraveling mysteries and forging an undeniable connection. McLean masterfully intertwines historical elements with imaginative storytelling, creating a vivid backdrop of the Caribbean and the piracy era. The characters are well developed, with Sutton's modern sensibilities clashing yet harmonizing with Beckett's rugged charm. Their chemistry is unmistakable, and the emotional depth of their relationship adds layers to the narrative.

The pacing is well done, filled with unexpected twists that will keep readers eager for the outcome. Casi McLean's prose immerses readers in the setting, making the time travel aspect both enchanting and believable. Themes of love, fate, and bravery echo throughout the narrative, culminating in a touching and satisfying conclusion. A Tryst in Time is a delightful read for fans of romantic suspense and time travel fiction. McLean's ability to blend historical research with imaginative storytelling makes this novel stand out. Whether you're drawn to pirates' allure or love's timeless appeal, this book provides an enchanting escape. It’s a quick read with short chapters that enhance the momentum, making it easy to devour in one sitting. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway or a cozy evening by the fire.

A Tryst in Time by Casi Mclean weaves fantasy, adventure, time travel, and romance into an intriguing and delightful story about two characters from different dimensions and worlds who fall in love and embark on an adventure in the year 1717. The main characters are Sutton McKaihan and Beckett Macrae. Sutton and her golden retriever Apolla come from 2025 and are transported to 1717 and meet Beckett Macrae in not the most wonderful of circumstances. But it does not stop romance from blossoming

In A Tryst in Time by Casi McLean, the two main characters take the reader by the hand as they wander through the island of Montserrat, chased by Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard. They have minor arguments, as Sutton being from the 21st century is not used to being excluded from pubs or hostelries, as well as having her opinion ignored. Through the journey, the reader discovers that Sutton is a vet and an orphan, and that Beckett Macrae had left Scotland because he did not want to be ruled by the British. The historical facts that appear make the story seem very real. The best part of the story is the twist in the tale, as it is not what the reader would expect, and it makes a wonderful conclusion to a budding romance. I loved the ending and the excitement of them being chased by Teach, or rather Blackbeard. I felt sorry for him, but not too sorry. This delightful romance will appeal to all readers. I had a blast reading it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be looking out for more books by this author.

Is fate an agent in the trajectory of love and life? Time travel over three hundred years into the past introduces Sutton McKaihan to a world of pirates, treasure, and romance. A Tryst in Time by Casi McLean tells the story of three people—Sutton, Beckett Macrae, and Blackbeard—who are unlikely to cross paths, yet they meet by chance. Sutton, recently single, is thrust into Beckett’s world, where circumstances force them into a bond that might be more than friendly. As Sutton struggles with overwhelming confusion about her obligation to Beckett versus her desire to return to 2025, Blackbeard hunts them. Will love overcome the obstacles?

Casi McLean employs short chapters to establish a fast-paced narrative in A Tryst in Time. Extreme attraction and intense longing with no apparent reason behind them—the classic love at first sight trope—allow the story’s romantic arc to develop quickly. The third-person point of view changes with the chapters. So, the reader has access to Sutton (the main character), as well as Beckett's and Blackbeard’s perspectives. This choice of narration allows tension and intrigue to build. The point of view allows all three characters to be well-developed. Sutton’s strong personality and distinct character make her someone readers will invest in. Blackbeard’s struggle and the growing intimacy between Sutton and Beckett create rising emotional tension in the narrative. It raises the question: Will she return to the year 2025? The story ends with a fascinating twist that readers won’t see coming (I didn’t).
