Adoptive parents raised Sutton McKaihan in Georgia near Lake Lanier, which was associated with chilling mysteries, inexplicable vanishings, paranormal activity, and haunting ghost tales. One day, something inexplicable happens: Sutton enters the cave on Three Sisters Island and exits onto a remote spot somewhere in the West Indies. In the cave, she meets Beck, who moved from Scotland to Montserrat for a better future, like many others his age. The circumstances under which they meet are unusual, as Beck is beaten up and shackled. Sutton frees him, and together they escape as Beck tells her of the notorious pirates who had beaten him up. Things become stranger as Sutton realizes it is April 30, 1717. How will things turn out in A Tryst In Time by Casi McLean as the two get close and deal with one of history's most notorious pirates?
A Tryst In Time by Casi McLean is wonderfully written, and the blending of time travel and romance makes it one of a kind. I loved the flawless flow of the plotline, which left no room for confusion. Casi ensured that all events were vividly described, which helped create a mental picture of what was happening. The writing is engaging and filled with well-crafted dialogue that brings the story and the well-developed characters to life. This was also a thought-provoking work, which triggered my curiosity in Scottish history. The narration was perfect, which added to the overall beauty of the work, and the reader will also appreciate the easy-to-understand language used, which makes the work accessible to all audiences. This is a good story, and I look forward to reading something else by this author.
