The Vegas Player is the jaw-dropping memoir of famous sax player Jimmy Mulidore. Hilarious and witty, Jimmy tells it like it is. Sometimes he survived on arrogance; other times it was on charm. Born into a poor Italian family, it was Jimmy’s dad’s dream to see his son reach great heights, and Jimmy did. Enrolling at Ohio State University on a music scholarship, he was well on his way to making it. However, he had a hard time conforming to the varsity's rules and dropped out. Jimmy’s heart was in New York, where all the jazz players were. From his raunchy sexcapades with the beautiful and enigmatic Margaret Ma to witnessing Frank Sinatra’s hot temper close-up, Jimmy was there. Reaching his dream, Jimmy held the position of musical director at the Hilton for 18 years.
Jimmy Mulidore started as a school kid playing in clubs till 2 am in the morning and made it onto Talent Scouts at just 14—quite the feat! Determined not to fail his father and to become a success, Jimmy worked hard. Gradually his star began rising, but so did the controversies. He loved the ladies and the ladies loved him. Jimmy was arrogant and could back it up, something I found incredibly admirable. Not only that, but he was resourceful and dedicated to his craft. Moving to Vegas turned out to be the best decision he ever made. His spying on Tina Turner in her dressing room is something I would never have expected, but neither was cheating death the number of times that he did. His respect for Elvis Presley and giving readers a glimpse of the man behind the fame was intriguing. His loyalty to his band and brotherly devotion to James Moody saw the two forming a memorable bond that lasted for years. The Vegas Player is filled with celebrities, sex, and stories from the Mafia, so buckle up!
