Across Both Sides of the Mirror by Bianca Pensy Aba introduces us to Nova Wright, a beautiful young woman with the means to have it all. There is just one problem: Nova is intent on selling herself short and ignoring the many opportunities life has to offer. Depressed and wallowing in self-pity, Nova makes the least effort possible to change her circumstances, preferring to watch others’ success from the sidelines, convinced there are just too many factors standing in her way of fulfilling her dreams... until a chance incident changes her life. With so many things weighing heavily on her mind, her discovery becomes a comforting reprieve. However, nothing lasts forever. Nova will have to make a decision. Whether it is for better or worse is entirely up to her.

Captivating, enigmatic, and stunningly original, Across Both Sides of the Mirror takes you on a magical journey, literally! Nova as the main character is lovely and helplessly relatable; I immediately fell in love with her quiet and calm demeanor even though she was frustratingly timid at times. Bianca Pensy Aba is a natural storyteller with the gift of keeping you curious as to what happens next. Each character had a vibrant personality, all of whom she effortlessly made come to life. The pace was smooth and easy, giving the reader enough time to absorb Nova’s sometimes comical situations. I am looking forward to more of Bianca’s work as I could not put Across Both Sides of the Mirror down. I recommend this to every young woman who finds themselves confused about which road to take in life and how to gain more confidence in themselves.
