AI-AGI Revolution by Ms. Bella St John asks whether the evolution of AI will change what it means to be human. AI Chatbots like ChatGPT and Google's Bard haven't been around for that long, yet they've already changed how some humans work. According to this book, Italy has already banned the use of ChatGPT after a concerning security breach. Even the actual creators of AI are now worried that everything is happening too fast. This is one of the things the book examines in detail. How far has AI gone? How fast does it evolve? Will it truly be a danger to humanity at some stage? Readers learn the difference between AI and AGI and how both could do immense good but also immense damage to humans. The author looks at questions that are relevant today. The answers affect everyone - no matter whether you work in a profession that could easily be replaced by AI or not.
I picked up AI-AGI Revolution by Ms. Bella St John because AI has already impacted my life. I'm a freelance writer who can't find clients willing to pay a real human. You often see "writers are welcome to use ChatGPT to create content fast and cheap." I was interested in reading more about AI, its history, and its potential future. This book did not disappoint. The author has similar concerns to myself, even though I found some things I disagree with. I found the book well-written, engaging, and thought-provoking. You don't need to know anything about AI to understand what she's writing about. The discussion on whether AI can be sentient is very interesting. It's a staple topic of many science fiction series and such a fascinating topic. There wasn't a single boring chapter in this book, and you could tell the author had put a lot of effort into doing her research.
