Algorithm by Arthur M. Doweyko is notches above the ordinary, as the author has incorporated extensive research and excellent descriptive writing. The story begins with Adam Dove, a young teenager, finding something shiny and looking like a coin embedded in a lump of coal in a coal cellar in August, 1979. He wears it as a good luck charm around his neck. Years pass and Adam is a highly qualified scientist, when he receives a cryptic message from his childhood friend with a newspaper clipping dated 1897 about a “GOLD CHAIN FOUND INSIDE COAL” that came from the Knox Coal Company, located near Pittston, PA - the answer to the mystery of his medallion may well lie in the River Slope Mine. Coal takes millions of years to form! With Adam's interest aroused, he commences on a mission to have the medallion analyzed. The medallion reveals secret after secret as he and a brilliant scientist, Linda, finally have it examined microscopically by top scientists in Chemistry and Biochemistry. This leads to an amazing discovery at the ultra high-tech Brookhaven National Laboratories in Long Island.

The action steps up into the incredible, with many complex protagonists emerging and leading Adam to face scenarios that appear fantastic, yet so real, that even a seasoned critic cannot deny the plausibility. So skillfully is the story entwined with fact that a voyage to the stars is no longer improbable. Arthur M. Doweyko's Algorithm is fast paced, has a high quality descriptive style of narration, and develops continuously, keeping the reader in a tightening grip from one momentous episode to the next - a fluid, seamless journey of unforgettable excitement to a shattering and believable climax. Well done, Arthur M. Doweyko - your novel deserves its 5 glittering stars.
