In Anecdotes by Richard L. Croyton, school was done with and now three close friends and flatmates, Clara, Rob and Erik, were to take their separate paths into the real world. Clara, a natural nomad, was seeking a career in journalism and hoping to find gainful employment with one of the many publications around, while Rob, just like the rest of his family, was venturing into the world of science under the mentorship of his uncle. Erik, who had quit school earlier, hoped for a fresh start with the military. So just like that, one by one, the three friends said their goodbyes and started on their individual journeys; ready or not! Follow their journeys through the excitement of being done with school, the anxiety of the what-next stage, and then drifting through the transition stage until their lives begin to take shape, and then their paths cross again.
Anecdotes by Richard L. Croyton follows the lives of the three characters as they enter into the adult world and try to find their footing and purpose after school. Clara, Rob and Erik each had a sombre outlook on life and the journey ahead as they went through the different adjustments and challenges life threw their way - for each of these stages, their emotions were accurately captured through Richard L. Croyton's detailed use of words. The three were comparable in many ways and yet, on some level, each character was unique and dealing with different struggles and aspirations. Their stories are compelling to follow as their individual journeys and dreams evolve through the different stages until their paths begin to take shape.
