“At the Zoo with Lil Boo,” written by Daddy Bookins and illustrated by Dania Piotti, is a fun and educational read for your young child. Lil Boo gets ready for the day. Then he heads out to the zoo with his dad and mom and his little friend and along the way he meets animals who join him for the day as they go along and meet even more animals. Lil Boo meets animals and learns things about them. Suddenly Lil Boo is woken up by his parents when they arrive at the zoo. Was it all a dream or did he really meet the animals?

This book is written in rhyme and is filled with beautiful illustrations. In my opinion this is a great combination for young readers! This book is entertaining and educational. Lil Boo is spending the day with his dad and mom and is having a great time visiting the zoo. With each animal that is met, an interesting fact is shared about the animal as well, so that your child is learning something about the animals along with being able to recognize what the animals look like and knowing their names. There are good lessons included throughout the book. For example, before they go to the zoo, Lil Boo has to get ready for the day including eating breakfast and brushing his teeth. It has a cute twist at the end that could lead to a great discussion with your children.

Come along with Lil Boo as he takes a trip to the Zoo. Meeting new friends and learning about the animals he encounters, Lil Boo's imagination runs wild. Educational and fun, a must read before you take your first visit to the zoo. Pick it up, you'll be glad you did!
