Kelly S. Marsden grew up in Yorkshire, and there were two constants in her life - books and horses.
Graduating with an equine degree from Aberystwyth University, she has spent most of her life since trying to experience everything the horse world has to offer. She is currently settled into a Nutritionist role for a horse feed company in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
She writes Fantasy stories part-time. Her first book, The Shadow Rises (Witch-Hunter #1), was published in January 2013, and she now has several successful series under her belt.

Awaken by KS Marsden is the second book in the Northern Witch series. Mark is finally in a good place and has made more for himself in his small town. His Nanna is teaching him how to be a witch and he can say that he's officially dating Damian. All should be perfect in Mark's world. Except his happiness is very short-lived. A party turns into a nightmare after Mark uses dark magic to save his friends, but gets a long lecture from his Nanna, and rumors circulate for his efforts. The demon lurking around his boyfriend is getting closer and a shocking turn of events will send Mark reeling, which could possibly derail him from more than romantic dates.
KS Marsden delivers a story that is funny, charming, suspenseful, and romantic with a dash of chaos and plenty of witchcraft. The story explores the nervousness of young love as Mark navigates his blooming relationship with Damian. This gives the story a touch of innocence as Mark is so genuine and entirely smitten with Damian. The romantic moments are the right mix of sweet and chaotic which Marsden uses to move the plot forward and to provide obstacles for Mark in his new relationship. Their romantic moments are often cut short with classic humor and chaos with horseback riding, going to his boyfriend's football game, going to a party, and a romantic dinner, all of which is uprooted by chaotic supernatural involvement. Each of these moments builds towards a twist while setting roots for a dangerous demon to arrive and with Damian as the catalyst for the demon's ultimate plans. This also builds added angst to this teenage love story and adds vulnerability to the characters. Mark is a witch in a new relationship but he's still a teenager that deals with drama and tension with his best friend. Awaken has humor, magic, and romance that make this second book even more charming than the first.
