In Become: Freyja Wolfe (1) by Lisa Merrai we discover that Freyja has always believed herself to be a fairly normal teenage girl, except for the scars that lightning left on her body years ago and the disappearance of her family shortly after. Orphaned relatively early when her parents were supposedly killed in an accident, Freyja becomes the target of a shadowy organization that wants to use her newly discovered powers for their nefarious purposes. Will she succeed or will her efforts be in vain in this new chapter of the epic battle between the forces of good and evil? Discover the outcome as you delve into Lisa Merrai's fantasy thriller titled Become: Freyja Wolfe (1).

The first thing that strikes me about this novel is the attention to detail as Lisa Merrai tells her story. She expands on designs, colors, and textures in such a way that you end up feeling like you are a part of the story. It's simply amazing. The characters are well developed, and Freyja's relationship with Nash doesn't need much explanation despite the not-so-obvious complexities that develop as the story progresses. The storyline is interesting with an exciting pace to boot. There is nothing to dislike about this novel, it's just perfect. Become is a fantasy like no other; it ought to be considered for screenplay adaptation if possible, that's how good it is. Merrai surpassed my expectations with this novel. I look forward to a potential sequel.

Become: Freyja Wolfe (1) is the first installment in a series by Lisa Merrai. Freyja Wolfe was struck by lightning when she was five years old, leaving fractal-shaped scars on her arm. Her family lived on a farm in Hood River but when her parents disappeared, and her Aunt Lucy was committed to a sanitorium, she was adopted by the Rahumans. Studying at Roosevelt High School, she found herself in a special education class, where one of the students had a seizure and bit her hand. In the chaos that ensued, she discovered a cylinder implanted in her hand. As soon as she pulled it out, translucent light emanated from the scars on her arm and she saw a dark web that seemed to connect everyone. What follows is a series of adventures that reveal an ancient conspiracy that men would kill to protect. With her best friend Nash, she sets out to find the truth.

Lisa Merrai’s Become is an enthralling young adult fantasy novel filled with extraordinary adventures. The author has created a world order that is as chilling as it is believable. Freyja Wolfe is a compelling character thrust into an unknown world filled with dangerous men, otherworldly characters, and magic. The build-up of the suspense is just right as we slowly discover with Freyja the mystery of her parents' disappearance and her real identity. This is one of those books that you won’t want to stop reading until you know how it ends. Highly recommended!

Become Freyja Wolfe (1) by Lisa Merrai is about Juliana Freyja Wolfe's journey to discovering her purpose in life while overcoming significant obstacles. Freyja was just a simple student dealing with her own fears when one of her colleagues became violent and bit her. While bleeding, she discovers that she has a chip implanted in her hand and begins hearing voices. The scars she got on her right hand due to a lightning strike when she was five began to glisten and glow. She doesn't know if she's dreaming, awake, or just crazy. Freyja decides to go to her old home to search for answers, and her only friend Nathaniel Shaw volunteers to go with her. Thus, she begins to learn more about her gifts and herself: why she was in foster care, what happened to her parents, and why her aunt was unfit as her sole custodian. She also learns about The Nine and the Council of Nine, The Adepts, the secrets hiding in so-called junk DNA and the forbidden knowledge, the dark web, and why she's in great danger.

This book was an excellent read and a fantastic journey well worth reading. It's so rare to come across a book that has so much intense action, mystery, emotion, and captivating world-building and characters. Become Freyja Wolfe (1) by Lisa Merrai is a dazzling and authentic Young Adult urban fantasy adventure. It's a story of fierce friendship, bravery, loyalty, and betrayal, and a tale of freedom, of being different and finding your power and purpose in life. This gorgeously written, magnificent novel is full of adventure and heart-pounding suspense that guarantees to keep you entertained. I highly recommended it.

Now, in the Roosevelt High bathroom, her scars are aglow and slightly warming, making her question whether her aunt's stories were not fabricated after all. With her best friend Nash by her side and a newly discovered letter left behind by her mother before her disappearance, she embarks on a mission to learn the truth about herself, her missing relatives, and the secrets of the world she lives in. Fans of YA fantasy, mystery, and adventure tales that subtly include romance should lick their lips and get ready for this mouth-watering serving of exquisite storytelling by Lisa Merrai. I had to keep reading to find out what occurred next and to discover more about the book's fantasy universe and intriguing components - from the mystery of her parents' disappearance and the unfolding details about the magical world of otherworldly characters and secret evil organizations to the characters' intriguing abilities, such as shape-shifting, telekinesis, and telepathy. With themes of channeling earth elements and discovering one's magical talent beautifully woven throughout, Become reminded me of characters from The Last Airbender and the Percy Jackson series. You will be mesmerized by this creative and expertly written tale, which is guaranteed to appeal to both general readers and the YA market.

A young adult novel with a fitting title, Become - Freyja Wolfe, written by Lisa Merrai, follows the story of a young girl named Freyja, who lost her parents at an early age, and was put into foster care. However, her journey is not a usual one, as one might think. As she grows older, she starts experiencing strange occurrences that some might even deem as supernatural. This is when her journey of becoming who she truly is and unlocking her full potential begins. She runs away from home to find out what is happening to her, and to find her Aunt Lucy who might give her answers to the questions she's been struggling with. Her best friend Nash follows her on this exciting and dangerous adventure. They are chased by a group of elite bounty hunters while, at the same time, tapping into and revealing a network of people and otherworldly creatures who are there to help them on their way traveling through different dimensions. Faced with danger, death and betrayal, Freyja needs to decide who to trust while chasing the truth, and figure out how to end a long-lasting battle that she was drawn into. Both Nash and Freyja start revealing the hidden truths about themselves, the world around them, and each other.

Lisa Merrai's style of writing is clear and wholesome and has a wonderful flow to it, which brings Freyja's character to the forefront even more, not just as the main character, but also as a representative of her own generation that is yet to discover the growth that awaits them and all the intricate occurrences following this process. Become is full of unknown dangers and intrigue, often testing Freyja's relationship with herself and other characters that she meets along the way. Beautifully and coherently structured, the novel is very easy to follow, which makes for an enjoyable reading experience. I loved the fact that it is a wonderful and relatable read. It shows that personal growth is essentially a beautiful but bumpy journey into the adult world and a thrilling transition from being carefree in the familiar world into an exciting new world of different responsibilities and enjoyment.

Become: Freyja Wolfe is a work of fiction in the urban fantasy subgenre. It is best suited to the young adult and adult reading audiences and was penned by Lisa Merrai. In this thrilling adventure which serves as the opening novel to a brand new series, our protagonist Freyja Wolfe finds herself in more trouble than she could ever have imagined when she becomes the focal point of a bizarre attack. Connected to ancient orders and long-buried secrets, Freyja must band together with her best friend Nash and a host of new and exotic friends to find out who is hunting down this dangerous secret, and reach it before they get their destructive hands on it.

Lisa Merrai dazzles with this superb opening novel that is quite unlike anything I’ve read in urban YA for quite some time. I loved the variety and originality of the characters in this utterly charming novel, and the interesting twists on their supernatural and otherworldly states made for a fresh look that turns a lot of old fantasy stereotypes on their heads. Another aspect that I also really enjoyed was the dialogue, particularly between Freyja and Nash. It was so warm and realistic for their age, which I think YA readers will instantly be able to relate to. I would not hesitate to recommend Freyja Wolfe to readers who adore fast-paced adventure novels, thrilling plots filled with quests and secrets, and highly lovable characters who will earn a place in your heart forever.
