Blogging Is Murder (A Jade Blackwell Mystery Volume 1) by Gilian Baker is a gripping and intense crime thriller mystery about a blogger's worst nightmare. Jade Blackwell is a former English professor who gave up her tenured position to work from home as a ghostwriter and author a blog for writers. Liz Collins, her friend, is a housewife and mother of three and also works from home as a successful blogger. However, the peace and security of their private lives they expect to have from their chosen careers, are blown to pieces when one of Liz's followers shows up at her door. Not only has the woman hacked into Liz's admins on her blog and social media accounts, but she also commences stalking Liz's family. Angered and frightened, Liz files a complaint with the sheriff. Instead of helping Liz's situation, it only complicates matters when the woman, whom Jade dubbed "Crazy Connie," is found murdered. Because of their dispute, Liz is the prime suspect and is arrested for Connie's murder. With the law officers not looking any further for another suspect, Jade must use her skills to find the real culprit. Time is running out for Liz, so will Jade be able to locate the actual killer before it is too late?

Blogging Is Murder (A Jade Blackwell Mystery Volume 1) by Gilian Baker is a heart-stopping murder mystery that will curdle the blood of those entrepreneurs brave enough to share their thoughts and lives with the world. Jade is an average, everyday person who has faults and shortcomings like everyone else. Her mistakes and misgivings give her a human side, making her likable and easy to relate to. Jade's imperfections give her character a realistic quality, creating a perfect protagonist for a cozy mystery. The fascinating characters, the twists and turns of the plot, and the surprise ending have created a spectacular amateur sleuthing mystery that will delight cozy mystery fans from young adults on up. I am so glad that this is the first volume and am looking forward to reading more of Jade's sleuthing exploits.
