A few years ago, the problem of social discrimination due to skin color was prevalent and Dr. Glenda Glover experienced that in her youth. For her opinion to be heard, she had to work harder. This made her into a strong woman and gave her the determination to seek justice and equity for all. She has managed to help many people and her accomplishments are noteworthy. She is now the first female president of Tennessee State University. Born to Lead: The Thrilling Success Story of One of the Divine Nine: Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover by Katina Rankin teaches that effort can bring great rewards. Katina Rankin brings readers a triumphant story that will be an inspiration for everyone.
Today, equality, human rights, and freedom are enjoyed in many places, but social equality is still sought in others. This is a matter that concerns us all, so it is wonderful to learn about exemplary lives such as that of Dr. Glenda Glover. I loved this book because seeing the results she achieved on a personal and social level, readers will be motivated to fight for their dreams and help others. Her story shows us that although the situation may seem difficult, we should trust rather than be afraid if we desire to improve as individuals. Katina Rankin presents an entertaining and informative story in Born to Lead. She provides a great example of a struggle that we can all follow in our own way.
