My perfect day: Laptop; WiFi availability; Java Mocha; characters demanding their stories be told; a plot that comes together; and hours to live in an alternate reality. Afterward, I return home to wash dishes and vacuum.
Seriously, I have always loved reading, and now I love writing. As a preteen, I devoured Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Mysteries. When I reached my teen years, the romance genre became my favorite and that has never changed. A few years ago, I decided to try my hand at writing and I've been doing so with a passion ever since. I have written around twenty novels and novellas in the genres of contemporary western romance, historical western romance, and fantasy romance. Because I hate saying goodbye to characters who have lived with me for months, I usually create a series so they can be revisited from book to book.

“Candy Kisses,” book 4 in Verna Clay’s 'Romance on the Ranch' series, is such a sweet love story that it will leave you smiling and wishing for your own romance on the ranch. Miles’s ex-girlfriend Monica calls him up in a time of need as she is jobless, moneyless and pregnant. Upon Miles's suggestion and help, Monica flies to Colorado and her life completely changes as she takes a job working for Dirk Branigan. Dirk needs help around his ranch and with raising his daughter as he is a widower; however, never did he imagine himself losing his heart to Monica. As Monica adjusts to her new lifestyle, she finds herself becoming attached not only to Tessa, but also to Dirk. Is love in the cards for these two or are the sparks flying not enough?
I was so excited to see that Verna Clay has written another book in this series! I have loved the first three books and it was great to become immersed in the characters’ lives again. I love how previous characters play roles in this book as well. I immediately felt bad for Monica and found myself rooting for her throughout the story. Miles and Tooty’s love story was a favorite of mine, but now Monica and Dirk may have topped that! I found myself being transported to the ranch and into the midst of a sweet love story that had me smiling and sighing as Monica and Dirk find love on the ranch.
