Caught in Traffic by Susan Hart Snyder is book 2 of The Romantic Adventures of an Accidental Detective series. Sydney has made her way to New York and is now living in her cousin’s basement. She works, mostly from home, as an editor and spends the best part of the day staring at people’s feet through the basement window as they walk past. One pair of feet catches her attention and further investigation reveals that they may belong to a drug dealer. However, it goes deeper than that and it transpires that he is part of a human trafficking ring as well. Unfortunately, Sydney can’t keep her nose out and, when she gets too close, she comes under the radar of the cartel ringleader. Can she escape their clutches? Can she get herself and her friends out of the reach of the cartel’s long arm? And where can she go to feel safe once again?
Susan Hart Snyder has come up with yet another winner in Caught in Traffic: The Romantic Adventures of an Accidental Detective - Book 2. Although it was a little slow to begin with, it soon picked up pace and I found it hard to put it down. The plot is amazingly well written and along the lines of the first in the series – as a sequel it was pretty explosive. It was nice to get reacquainted with old characters and meet some new ones along the way, and all of them are very well developed. The story twisted and turned at a fast clip, but not so fast that I couldn’t keep up with it. I feel I had a definite advantage having read the first in the series, and I would urge anyone thinking about reading this to read the books in order. Fantastic story and it was left nicely open for another. I hope that isn’t too far away! I think this is going to be a series that a reader would want to buy and keep because you can read them over and over again.
