Author Biography

Bryan Lindberg is a reluctant therapist. Why? He was never meant to be a therapist. His plan was to retire from the military. But at the age of 29, a combat injury during the Gulf War changed that plan. After only 11 years of service he became an unemployed civilian. That is how the journey to becoming Reluctant Therapist began.

Today he has two advance degrees in Theology from Providence College and Human Development from the University of Rhode Island. He has been license as a Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) since 2002.

He started private practice after he and his wife of 21 years moved to the Blue Ridge of Southwest Virginia with there 3 children.

Bryan specializes in Systemic Theory. Life is made of a series of interlocking systems. This is to say, an issue is never isolated because it effects and is affected by many different components. The solution is found by examining the entire system.

Bryan combines faith, science and humor to bring important questions to the surface. The ones that demand answers.
