Charlotte’s Quest by Mónica Vidalón teaches children the answer to one of the most important quests they will ever undertake. What could this vital quest be? After hearing her parents discussing their happiness, Charlotte goes on a quest to discover what brings happiness and where she can find it. As a child, Charlotte’s mind immediately thinks that new and better toys will surely bring her happiness. Sadly, the happiness found in new toys is short-lived. Maybe sharing her new toys will do the trick. Finding the same results, she eats all the candy she can. Then she plays with some of her friends. Each time she finds happiness, it wanes and disappears. Read this story to learn how Charlotte finally realized that happiness comes and goes. To find true happiness, you need to look inside yourself.
This sweet children’s picture book helps your child understand happiness and where to find it. Mónica Vidalón’s Charlotte’s Quest will delight children as they realize they do not find happiness in things but within themselves. As a counselor for over thirty years, I find this a great book for children to help them understand that no one and nothing can make you happy. You find happiness within yourself and how you look at life. I highly recommend parents read this book with and to their children as they discuss emotions such as happiness. Parents will enjoy the joy on their children’s faces as they discover they are in control of their feelings and can find happiness, even without material possessions. I highly recommend this book.
