"Trepidation: Chrysalis" is the third in the paranormal series by author M.L. Lacy. Aubrey "Bree" Campbell is thirty-two years old and is about to cross from the human to the magical world. However, her life and that of those around her is riddled with danger. Bree is protected by her "gang of four", Rick, Gary, Stanley and Bill, who have supernatural powers, but Esmeralda, evil to the core, hates Bree as she is one of the Chosen and does everything to defeat her and cause her death. Bree has horrific nightmares but her supernatural guardian, Odessa, tells her to go when the demon in her dreams summons her as by facing down her enemies Bree will gain strength. Steven, who is Bree's love forever, stands by her as she is drugged and kidnapped by Esmeralda and her allies who are meddling with the leaders on earth as well as its weather. Bree can see the future but she cannot interfere with the path walked by those she knows. The magic culture needs time to heal from all these troubles but can Bree and her human and magical allies halt the forces of evil?
"Trepidation: Chrysalis" is a well-written and excellent addition to the 'Chrysalis series' by author M.L. Lacy. Paranormal readers everywhere will delight in the story's many characters, good and bad, human and magical, who add to the story as it plays out in a Texas setting. The dialogue between characters is really good and the plot proceeds to the story's last page with the good guys fighting incessantly against the evil doers. Romance abounds as Bree and Steven and many of the other characters are happily in love or married to their life mates. "Chrysalis Trepidation" will delight paranormal readers everywhere.
