Circle of Time by Debra Shiveley Welch is a fascinating time travel story with powerful historical hints, a sensational romance, and a painful betrayal, a tale with compelling characters like Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, and Bridget Littleton. Bridget Littleton is a twenty-one-year-old girl and she is very adventurous, so when she takes her father’s yacht and sails off towards Bermuda, she hardly knows she is about to discover that the tales about the Bermuda Triangle aren’t just fiction but reality. She is transported, waking up in Bristol, England in another time. Follow her story as she gets embroiled in the affairs of Henry VIII’s court and Anne Boleyn. Now Bridget is about to live the history she’d studied as a child, but how exactly does she fit in and can she get out alive, and what about her life in the future?

Debra Shiveley Welch is a great storyteller and her author voice comes out clearly and in an arresting manner through the voice of the narrator, Tanis Clark. The audio is wonderfully made, clear and compelling. I had no problem following the story and the variations in voice and sound effects create the mood for the narrative, helping readers imagine elements of the setting and the emotional vagaries of the characters. The story is intelligently plotted and intriguing and it is interesting how the well-researched and surprising elements of history are written into the plot. Circle of Time features compelling characters, and the author does an impeccable job in arousing the curiosity of the reader who is constantly wondering what will happen next in the story. I was hooked from the very first moment and kept on listening to the unfolding tale until its satisfying conclusion.
