Club Luxe 1: The Private Room (Billionaires Underground) is a sensual novel written by Olivia Noble. Victoria has managed to snag two invitations to the Club Luxe, an underground sex club that caters to the very wealthy. She and her friend, Chloe, are attending the all-night Friday night party. They’re unable to find the address at first, but manage to locate it in an alleyway just before the deadline time of 10 p.m. Chloe’s understandably nervous at going to such a club, but Victoria has her heart set on a news reporter’s coup and the possibility of a promotion or a job offer from a better publication. Once inside, the two women mingle and await the appearance of the King of Kink, the host for the festivities. Victoria is shocked when she recognizes the King who is Malcolm Cage, a billionaire businessman who’s been eluding her calls for some time now. Malcolm’s also recognized her, though she doesn’t know it.
Olivia Noble's contemporary fiction novel, Club Luxe 1: The Private Room (Billionaires Underground), is a steamy romance with undertones of a dark psychological thriller. Victoria and Malcolm are both strong, well-defined characters who are comfortable with their ruthless and predatory natures. I enjoyed watching their power plays and intellectual one-upmanship. There’s a lot of sensuality and sexual situations, and this is definitely not a story for young adults or those who prefer sweet romances. As this is the first book in the series, I’m curious to see what happens next as the two of them continue with the psychological games. There were hints about investigations Victoria had undertaken in the past that had tragic aftermaths, and Malcolm also has a stormy past. Club Luxe 1: The Private Room is an entertaining and fast-paced romantic thriller and is recommended reading.
