Cobjay's Summer Holiday and How (Not) to Catch A Squirrel is a picture book written by Anne-Marie Mugwe, with illustrations by John Farrelly. The book tells the humorous story of Cobjay, a young boy excited to visit his grandmother, Nana Angelina, for his summer vacation in London. He looks forward to going sightseeing and having fun at the zoo. However, Cobjay is unprepared for his grandmother's grass juice, a health drink she insists he should try. Disliking the juice, Cobjay devises elaborate schemes to avoid drinking it, including painting his hair green and attempting to catch squirrels to prank his Nana. Will his antics be successful, or will Nana’s plan to encourage him to eat more healthily win?
Cobjay’s Summer Holiday and How (Not) to Catch A Squirrel is a heartfelt story filled with intriguing characters and a hilarious plot. From the first page to the last, the narrative captures readers' attention and takes them on a delightful adventure. It shows Cobjay’s mischievous personality and imaginative mind. Readers will find themselves laughing at his misunderstandings with the squirrels and his witty comebacks. This holiday-themed book is perfect for reading with family and friends, and Anne-Marie Mugwe’s engaging narration uses simple language that children can easily understand. The story also imparts a message about healthy eating and the importance of spending time with family. The whimsical and colorful illustrations complement the story perfectly. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it because it is both entertaining and encourages children to be imaginative and creative.
