Debbie Seagle surrendered her marriage to a spouse whose idea of an amicable separation left her holding the short end of the stick. Despite the repertoire of truly horrific ideas she was capable of conjuring up in her mind, she surprisingly opted for writing Coffee Cups and Wine Glasses. This is not a run-of-the-mill read, but a well-thought-out and highly detailed manual on, of all things, the art of navigating relationships - be they happy, struggling, or in the final stages of sinking like a stone. She should know best about that seeing that she has gone through all these phases on autopilot. Sit back and prepare yourself to be educated in the unusual.

Debbie Seagle employs a comedic approach to translating her thoughts into the written word. Her use of language to describe her former partner is insightful as it expresses her anger at being wronged. Her advice is light-hearted and filled with anecdotes that will leave you holding your sides with laughter. Her unusual knack for creating perfectly plausible new words out of thin air makes you wonder why her creations have not found their way into conventional dictionaries. A heightened sense of intuition is needed to get at the real story beneath the layers of humor and relationship survival advice from a woman and mother who opens her heart for you to acknowledge her victories. Coffee Cups and Wine Glasses is a moving piece from which everyone can learn a thing or two.

Coffee Cups and Wine Glasses by Debbie Seagle tells us that a tough divorce is no reason to give up on your life or self-realization. Just take your favorite potato masher from the house of a person who never really appreciated you and head to new adventures with a smile. Even if you live in a wooden cabin, alone and afraid of every strange sound in the dark, Debbie will tell you how to get rid of a bear, cook a squirrel, escape from an accidentally closed balcony by using your jeans as a rope, or how to arrange a magnificent spa day with handy products you can find in your kitchen cabinets and your garden. Do not forget to mention your successes in the DOiT Journal and keep your favorite wine glass at hand to celebrate it.

Coffee Cups and Wine Glasses aims to take us out of our comfort zone. Debbie Seagle challenges us with her unique DOiTs to demonstrate that we can find humor in every situation. The book is interactive. Debbie addresses her readers directly and makes hilarious observations about their possible reactions to her recommendations. I appreciated Debbie's funny family stories with a grain of wisdom in each of them and her loving insights into the hillbilly culture and the origins of bluegrass music. Debbie was not afraid to open up about the loss of her loved one and the brain surgery that she had undergone. Her courage and zest for life are contagious and motivating. Debbie shows us how to face our deepest fears such as loneliness and irrelevance, overcome them, and move on with our lives. This is an inspirational read for fans of memoirs, self-help books, humorous prose, and those looking for support during difficult times.

Coffee Cups and Wine Glasses by Debbie Seagle inspires us to move on and overcome our heartbreak through her experience. As a divorcee, her ex-husband kicked her out of their house so his other woman could move in. Debbie, therefore, goes to live in the mountain cabin. At the cabin, she realizes how to survive and protect herself. After a while, she can again sleep soundly at night. She also finds ways to earn an income by renting her cabin to tourists. With time, Debbie learns how to self-love and self-care for herself. She accepts her reality and only remembers good memories with her ex-husband. She speaks of optimism in case of any negative thoughts, thus helping her to move on with her life and find happiness. She also shares her favorite recipes, life hacks, fun facts, and motivational messages to lighten your mood and enjoy the experience.

Heartbreaks are realities that we may have experienced at some point. We can all relate to this topic, and the fact that Debbie Seagle discloses her story and that of her friends who had also been cheated on is commendable. Furthermore, it gives us courage and hope to understand that we are not alone and that we, too, can move on and find happiness on our own. Debbie includes steps on how to overcome your "heartbreaker." Lastly, she introduces her topics with motivational messages that urge us to choose ourselves first, work on moving to the next phase, love ourselves more, and accept what happened to live happily. I recommend Coffee Cups and Wine Glasses to those going through a heartbreak; it will equip you with tips and tools that will enable you to move on.

In Coffee Cups & Wine Glasses by Debbie Seagle, after ending a marriage that lasted over three decades, the author experimented with life, tossing some of her cares away. Seagle discusses the years after her divorce, sharing hilarious anecdotes and ways she managed to cope with her situation. Recipes with sarcastic asides that correlate with the subjects in her chapters are included, and journaling is encouraged. She motivates readers to “DOiT” and face their fears when they think of something that may seem a little outlandish to most people. Seagle asks questions that inspire her readers to think about themselves and reflect on their decisions.

With a wine glass or coffee cup in one hand, Debbie Seagle offers advice—like making sure the windows are rolled up when you go through a car wash—and imparts skills like how to tie knots with your clothes if you’re locked outside on your balcony in a rainstorm. She shares what she’s learned from her experiences and marriage and dispenses this wisdom with a strong dose of humor and sarcasm. The author suggests inspirational words to be used as words of affirmation and provides a glossary of Southern words and phrases to help anyone become better acquainted with individuals they may meet in the South. Seagle goes over the benefits of letting go of resentment while empathizing with readers who may feel lonely in their journeys. Coffee Cups & Wine Glasses is more than a book of funny recollections on embarrassing situations, and it would be a great gift for anyone who is coming to terms with leaving a relationship.
