In Corfu Capers by Joy Skye, Kate Delaney only has her son, and her whole life is wrapped around doing things for Scott. So the story opens up with Kate making arrangements for her and Scott and his girlfriend and a few others to go to Corfu. She plans the entire getaway, including when, where, and how Scott will go about giving Linda a diamond ring. Corfu is a beautiful place and the diamond is huge. Linda would have to say yes and love it, right?
Corfu Capers by Joy Skye started out kind of slowly for me, but as I kept reading, the better the book became. I enjoyed this quirky romance though Kate did get on my nerves a bit with being so overbearing with Scott and Linda. But the other characters made up for it. I actually had never heard of Corfu so I was glad to get to know this beautiful island. Author Joy Skye does an amazing job of vividly describing all of the different places and restaurants on the island. And the food sounds so fabulous I was wanting to eat the entire time I was reading. The beaches were brilliant and beautiful and, again, Skye does such a good job with detail.
Corfu Capers is a great romantic read. The characters did have lots of fun in the sun at the pool and down by the beaches. And the ending was quite different than what I was expecting but different with a twist for the good. If you enjoy a good romantic beach read, this is one book you need to read.
