Creepy, Funny & Just Plain Weird: Stories and Poems for Kids is written by Maranda Russell. Detective Schnauzer takes on the saucy case of the Killer Meatballs! Hiccup has a few odd remedies to cure yours. The poem Dessert Heaven will have you craving for delectable sweets. A boy camps out in a cemetery and witnesses something very haunting in Last Halloween. Meet Pi, the Purple Pooping Penguin who was teased a lot. My Dog is on a Diet and Two Cows in Love are cute poems. Tommy will do anything to avoid eating The Most Disgusting Meatloaf. Discover why students call their school bus “The Rolling Pit of Despair” in Mean Green Gus. Don’t Pick Up Strays will make you think twice before doing it again.
As the title suggests, these short stories and poems are quirky but entertaining. They are so original and unexpected in content. Maranda Russell thinks outside the box and lets her imagination roam free. Her writing is an indication of this and that is what makes her stories and poems so different and bizarre in their situations. The poems are upbeat, silly and amusing. All the stories have an interesting, but odd sequence of events that will make you smile or grimace. Each story is followed by a poem in the novella, which I know will make everyone chuckle. Creepy, Funny & Just Plain Weird: Stories and Poems for Kids is a lovely book by Maranda Russell that you will enjoy.
