Nothing could have prepared the sheriff’s office in Park County, Colorado for what they saw after responding to a missing person’s call from the wife of a state brand inspector—a body with bullet wounds. And next to it, a large herd of dead cattle belonging to a member of one of the first families to settle in Park County, all lying in South Park Valley. As if nothing more could go wrong, the bodies of two kids are also discovered around the same area. The cause of the deaths of the cattle is not clear, and this only makes things harder for the local authorities. Investigative agent Buck Taylor of the Colorado Bureau of Investigations is determined to get to the bottom of it. With a local crime family complicating the investigation, angry victims demanding answers, and the clock ticking, will Agent Buck and his team have success solving the case? Get yourself Chuck Morgan’s Crime Family, A Buck Taylor Novel (Book 10) to learn more.
Chuck Morgan’s Crime Family is what lovers of crime thrillers with a touch of mystery should be looking for. Morgan had me hooked from the start with an intriguing plot. Morgan has a knack for insightfully unfolding the storyline with a subtle tone. The vivid depictions brought the scenic and rocky Colorado to life, dropping me right in the middle of the action. The large and diverse cast featured cold-blood murderers, human traffickers, stealthy sleuths, treasure hunters, gun-toting anti-government idealists, and so much more. Morgan brings out the emotions and traits of the well-crafted cast, allowing me to experience every moment of the story. This added authenticity to some of the tremendously dramatic scenes. Albeit the tenth in the Buck Taylor series, Crime Family is a stand-alone book. I loved it, and I’m on my way to get the other installments in this captivating series.
