People with psychic abilities are being targeted by an elusive mind hacker, and the lives of agents from an obscure paranormal government agency are in jeopardy in the paranormal novel, Cross Waves (Mind Hackers Series Book 2) by Amanda Uhl. Working for the government's Cognitive Mind Unit, Geneva and Rolf use their extraordinary psychic skills. When Rolf's sister and cousin disappear while on an assignment in Arizona, their boss pairs Geneva's tracking talents with Rolf's mind hacking abilities to locate them. However, when they arrive at the vortex in Sedona, they are deceived by a false energy signature, and Geneva nearly dies. Taking her to a secure location, Rolf is shocked when their unknown enemy dupes Geneva again, and she almost doesn't make it out alive. When Rolf vanishes from the hospital, Geneva is alarmed by the possibilities. Is a rogue agent nabbing CMU agents? Can Geneva recover Rolf intact and unharmed?
Cross Waves (Mind Hackers Series Book 2) by Amanda Uhl is a fascinating and irresistible paranormal romance. The storyline is intriguing and moves along at a fast pace, coming to an explosive conclusion. Well-proportioned, all of the characters have dynamic personalities that coincide with their extraordinary gifts. From the beginning, the conflict between Geneva and Rolf held me spellbound, and I couldn't put the book down until I found out how their dilemma was resolved. Filled with suspense and intrigue, it is a fast-paced action-packed story that will entertain everyone who has a penchant for tales with super-normal protagonists fighting super-normal villains. Being the second book in the series, it does fairly well as a stand-alone. However, I think reading the first book, where the characters and storyworld are introduced, would more than likely enhance the experience.
