Crossing Paths, Tempting Memories is the second novel in the Black Love Series by author Dorothy Elizabeth Love. The novel follows two people who weren’t looking for love, yet love found them in the most unlikely of places. Richard Townsend was running away from a bad relationship, an emotionally draining divorce, and a fading career. On the other hand, Caitlyn Crenshaw was done with relationships. After a devastating end to her relationship, she was ready for some fun and nothing else. When the two meet, sparks fly and their chemistry sizzles in the air around them. Neither is looking for love, but when feelings get involved, they cannot deny it. Richard is ready to go all in, but Caitlyn is not ready to jump back into a relationship. Can Richard make Caitlyn see that their love is worth fighting for? Or will they walk away from something beautiful?
I am a huge sucker for a good romance, and Crossing Paths, Tempting Memories by Dorothy Elizabeth Love is exactly that. I love the story, the pace, and the characters. Richard is a fantastic protagonist who wears his heart on his sleeve. He is very vulnerable, easy to connect with, and very easy to love. Caitlyn, on the other hand, is a little hesitant after her heartbreak and wasn’t ready to get into a relationship this soon. I could feel her pain, but I wanted her to give Richard a chance and experience love once again. Their chemistry was hot, and sparks flew the moment they met. The character development was fantastic, the emotional development of both Richard and Caitlyn was believable, and the ending was perfect. I highly recommend this book!
