Dance Daughters of the Most High! by Dr. Bill Senyard is a touching portrayal of unnoticed females in biblical stories in the Old Testament. The narrative starts with a thoughtful introduction, which demonstrates the similarity in society's constricted expectations of women, and the historical disappearance of women in biblical stories The author remembers a visit to a monastery that sets a different tone and enables him to vividly explain the heroic acts, faith, and role of those women in God’s salvific plan. In Dance Daughters of the Most High! Amazing Stories of Long Overlooked and Underappreciated Women in the Old Testament by Dr. Bill Senyard, he is moved by a monastery in Galilee that has set aside space to honor women. Not just the major players but also relatively unknown figures such as Mary, the wife of Clopas, Joanna, the wife of Chuza, and Susana. It must have been very hard to be heard at such a time when society was so male-dominated and women were viewed through a negative lens. Since the beginning, perspectives haven't favored women. For Adam and Eve, the only human beings to fully experience God's love, Eve takes the bigger blame for the fall. She is viewed as weak and a seducer. But could things have been different if it was Adam who was tempted?

Dance Daughters of the Most High! by Dr. Bill Senyard made me think about the scriptures and why women are not given prominent roles in the Bible, despite some of them being followers of Christ and others being used by God the Father for various purposes. This thought-provoking work stimulated my mind to consider how discrimination in a male-dominated society might have played a role in the suppression of such women. This might have been the case not just in those times but also in the society that we currently live in. I liked how the author referred to various scholars, making this book a possible guide for further exploration of the concepts discussed. Providing questions at the end of the chapters also made the book very effective in passing on the intended message.
