When Kat opened her dance studio she went to the bank for a loan. On that particular day she talked to Mason Everett. He granted her the loan but business had not been doing all that well and Kat was afraid that she was going to lose her studio. Mason and Kat had been dating for a while and Kat thought he was ashamed of her. Mason asks Kat to marry him and meet his family and rescues her livelihood. His sister Cassidy texts his high school girlfriend Priscilla and tells her that Mason is getting married. Priscilla goes ballistic and plants drugs in Kat's studio for which she is arrested. Mason believes that Kat is innocent and figures that it is Priscilla behind it. After Kat's arrest Mason tells her how Priscilla has had a hand in breaking up every relationship he has had. He hires bodyguards for Kat, but Mason is who Priscilla kidnaps.
Kat feels that Mason is ashamed of her because her mother is in prison for fraud among other things. But Mason is cautious because of Priscilla's obsession with him. He does not want anything to happen to Kat. Well developed storyline that shows just how a sick fascination with another person can cloud the thinking and ruin your life. The family rally is around each other and Kat to wait for word of Mason. Lots of romance as well as a little suspense in this one, the first in a series about the Everett family. This book can be read in one sitting and leaves you anticipating the next installment. Very enjoyable romantic story.
